Our local guide will walk you through magnificent scenery in the kingdom of the wild reindeer. Visitors get to see an archaeological excavation of an ancient trapping site. We follow the traces back to our ancestors, which provide an insight into the importance of wild reindeer for the village.
From mountain farms to the village
Join a local guide on a unique trip! We follow an old farm road from Filling in Dalsida, over the high mountains and down to the farming village of Lesja. Along the way, stories will be told about life on the mountain farms, wildlife, alpine flora and geology - and perhaps the occasional tall tale?
The trip follows a trail that offers stunning views over the Lesja mountains and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park. Visitors also get to see one of the area’s unique waterways; solid craftsmanship that supplied the farms with water.
